| Just about everyone hates to see spam, or Unsolicited Commercial Email(UCE), filling up their inboxes. The right side of this page is an archive of the international lottery scam emails I've been receiving for the last few months. They seem to have been growing in popularity lately. Just so you don't have any questions about these - There is no lottery and you did NOT win any prize. These scammers can win in a few different ways. Once you reply to one of these emails, you've given them a live email address. At the very least, they'll be selling all the email addresses to other scammers and spammers. Eventually they will be asking you to pay a fee in advance of receiving the prize to cover their expenses. Don't Pay...there is no prize They will also ask you to provide identification information to prove you are the actual winner. This information could include copies of your driver's license, passport, bank account information and other personal details. Once you have provided this, they have enough info to steal your identity. Rule #1 - Don't ever reply to one of these lottery scam emails. While replying may seem harmless, you dont know who is on the other end of these emails and what they are capable of. Rule #2 - See Rule #1.
